2010 March of Dogs & Pet Costume Contest
Our 4th annual March of Dogs, and 5th annual Pet Costume Contest is set for SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2010. It will be in conjunction with the Hardeman County Live Music Fest in downtown Bolivar, TN. This is a FREE event, and is perfect for the entire family!
The 1-mile person/dog walk begins at 10:30 AM the vacant lot beside Auto Zone on Highway 64 in Bolivar, TN... and finishes at the Hardeman County Courthouse in downtown Bolivar.
The Pet Costume Contest begins when all walkers reach the Courthouse. Bring your LEASHED pet, borrow a pet, or just come walk with us to show your support! Feel free to use wagons, strollers, etc. if your pet is too small to walk the entire distance. Admission is FREE for both events, and each person who walks will receive a FREE hot dog! (Your pet does not have to be in costume to participate in the March of Dogs.)
Official Rules:
Your pet must have a collar, leash, and required rabies tags. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in the March.
All types of pets are welcome in both events, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th prizes will be awarded in the Pet Costume Contest.
For further info, call Cindy Hamrick at (901) 465-1527, or visit www.MarchofDogs.com.
The 4th annual March of Dogs is being sponsored by the Friends of Hardeman County Animal Control to promote public awareness as to the desperate need for a new and larger shelter for the homeless dogs of this county. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and be applied towards Sherri's Strays, an account an account initiated by the staff at Old Hatchie Veterinary Clinic in Bolivar, for the specific purpose of providing a buffer in the expenses incurred with required shots and medications necessary for the Shelter animals which are put up for adoption.
